True black from two true black parents, Jag carries color genetics deep with black and grey. In addition to the rich black color, his fiber has wonderful hand and architecture...a fabulous combination!
Unfortunately, Jag's first owners did not show him as a juvenile.
Jag came into his own at the 2007 Great Midwest Alpaca Festival where Judge Jude Anderson chose him as the 1st Place True Black 2 Year & Older Male then selected him as the Black Color Champion. He would glide and prance as he entered the ring, capturing the judges' attention, noting that his fleece was the "finest with good crimp, and lock, even from skin to tip, well covered, conformationally sound with great style"!
BLACK JAG'S most well known cria is AVALON'S JACOB BLACK...a 16 X Champion and 2 RC, including the 2012 Futurity and AOBA National Show. Now owned by Irish Meadow Alpacas.

UPDATE May 2012: Jag's outstanding son, Avalon's Jacob Black, has won 17 Championships to date and just was selected as the 2012 Futurity 1st Place Black Male and Black Color Champion!!

UPDATE March 2011: Jag's crias hit the 2011 show ring with a bang, winning first place, Color and Reserve Championship, and even Judges' Choice honors.
UPDATE: GREY female Jag cria born at Wineaux Alpacas.

UPDATE: Producing TRUE BLACK crias...even from brown dams!
